Our ongoing commitment to the protection of your privacy is essential to building trust between Rank the Vote ("Rank the Vote" "we" or "us"), our volunteers, other nonprofits and volunteer organizations ("users"), and state-based RCV organizations ("partners"). This document (the "Privacy Policy") is intended to help you understand how we collect, use, and disclose your information.

User Consent
By submitting Information through our website, you expressly consent to the processing of your Information according to this Privacy Policy. Your Information may be processed by us in the country where it was collected as well as other countries (including the United States) where laws regarding processing of Information may be less stringent than laws in your country.

• Other categories of information required or requested by an Agency to register for a particular volunteer opportunity.

How We Use Information

We use the Information we collect about you to provide and improve the site, facilitate the volunteering process, respond to your requests, and to provide information to you about Rank the Vote and related topics. We may also use location information to send you e-mail messages about upcoming events or activities in your area.

We may use the information that you provide online to contact you for other purposes or to solicit contributions. When you register or sign up online, we may share your contact information with other organizations that share similar goals and objectives, and they may contact or solicit you.

Please be aware that we may use our email lists for sending out Rank the Vote communications. You may remove yourself from the list at any time. For details or special requests, please email us at [email protected] .

We may share information about you as follows or as otherwise described in this Privacy Policy:

• With vendors, service providers, volunteers, and consultants who need access to such information to carry out work on our behalf;
• With organizations, candidates, campaigns, groups, or causes that we believe have similar political viewpoints, principles, or objectives or share similar goals and with organizations that facilitate communications and information sharing among such groups;
• With other participants in a joint fundraising committee;
• To report required information to the Federal Election Commission or state agencies, including name, mailing address, occupation, employer, and principal place of business of individuals whose contributions exceed $200 in an election cycle;
• In response to a request for information if we believe disclosure is in accordance with, or required by, any applicable law or legal process, including lawful requests by public authorities to meet national security or law enforcement requirements;

• If we believe your actions are inconsistent with the spirit or language of our user agreements or policies, or to protect the rights, property, and safety of Rank the Vote, its employees, volunteers, constituents, or others;

We may also share aggregated or de-identified information that cannot reasonably be used by those third parties to identify you.

The above excludes text messaging originator opt-in data and consent, which information will not be shared with any third parties, provided that the foregoing does not apply to sharing (1) with vendors, consultants and other service providers who need access to such information to carry out work on our behalf (and who will not use such information for their own purposes); (2) if we believe disclosure is required by any applicable law, rule, or regulation or to comply with law enforcement or legal process; and (3) if the user consents to our sharing of such information.

Children's Privacy

We welcome volunteers of all ages, including children under the age of thirteen. Due to our status as a non-profit organization, we are not required to comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). However, we strongly encourage our volunteers aged thirteen and under to use our site only with parental consent and supervision.
