Funding

Rank the Vote (RTV) is a 501(c)(3), nonpartisan organization that is able to receive tax-deductible donations. We are funded by individuals and foundations from across the political spectrum. Our largest donors in recent years have been Unite America, UpMobility Foundation, Kaphan Foundation, and Community Foundation Santa Cruz County. This work would not be possible without the collective impact of all of our donors who helped make ranked choice voting the fastest growing electoral reform in the country.
While Rank the Vote donations are fully tax-deductible, Rank the Vote Action donations are not but they go entirely toward helping us win change in cities, states, and Congress. If you’re able to donate to either or both groups, we are incredibly grateful. If you do prefer to donate to Rank the Vote Action, you can do so here.

Audits & Forms 990

Every year, Rank the Vote has its financial books audited by an independent firm. In addition, we file a “Form 990” with the Internal Revenue Service, as required of all 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations. Our audits and Forms 990 extensively describe our financial revenues and expenses. Below you can find links to our recent audits and the main pages of our Forms 990. We have received a Gold Transparency rating from Candid.
