I will be voting Yes for the ballot measure on ranked choice voting (RCV) for Longmont elections. RCV is fairer, and allows voters to vote for more than one candidate and rank them instead of having to vote strategically. This means that you stand a better chance of having at least one of your choices win.

In Longmont, multiple people often run for the same seats on the City Council. Multiple candidates can split the vote, possibly allowing someone to win with the least support. RCV ensures that the candidate with the most public support wins.

”Make voting more appealing

RCV allows more votes to “count” in a meaningful way, gives more reason to turn out and makes voting more appealing.

Studies on voter turnout cited by Fairvote.org show that RCV elections often generate relatively higher voter turnout, including the youth vote.

RCV will give voters a more positive experience. Join me in giving RCV a try by voting Yes!
