A first-time legislator has proposed a bill that, by his own acknowledgment, might make his reelection less likely.
State Rep. Keith Denning of Wilton, a Democrat, agreed that ranked choice voting might make it more difficult for the party in power to retain power.
”It offers the voter more opportunity...
“What’s wrong with that?” Denning asked. “If there’s another candidate out there that people like better, that can do the job better, then I may vote for them myself.”
“It offers the voter more opportunity to have what they really want out of their candidate,” Denning said. “And yes, it may actually allow for more turnover.”
